On Beauty...
Am lovin' the new Dove advertising campaign. (Love a campaign with a solid message).
Hmm....speaking of Dove.....maybe I need to buy myself some new Dove body wash...
Dammit!! Clever "advertising" wins again! (Advertising: 1 point, Colleen: Nil) ;)
UPDATE:
Just found out that this commercial is the brainchild of a Canadian based ad agency (in Toronto). Of course, now I love it even more!!!!!!
I'm fascinated by the "art" of retouching, and its effect on body-image. How long before the Cosmo-girl is 100% computer generated?

I wonder though, how many Dove ads feature models with unnaturally perfect skin?
wow, that's really amazing.
Hi,
just found your blog recently and love your take on Amsterdam in particular. I live in Sydney, Australia and have been there twice. For 12 mnths in 2001 and for 3 mnths this year. I have wanted to move there permanently since the first time round and was wondering how it was for you to move there. Was it hard to find a job and a place to live there? Do you speak Dutch? How easy (or hard) is it to get residency? Would love to hear from you if you want to reply.
Cheers
Michael
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your post! As for your questions, personally I think its a very easy city to settle into to. I don't really speak Dutch (just the basics) and don't need to for my job, etc. There are a lot of multinational companies that have their HQ here, so the English job market is very good. Residency is the hardest part--without an EU partner or a company as a sponsor it is virtually impossible to get a work permit. I'd wouldn't suggest you come here without your papers sorted out first.
Good luck!
